What is PINPI ?
PINPI is a programming interface
based on an
all-purpose platform independent networking protocol for use to
realize client/server (or similar) applications.
PINPI supports user authorization accounting compression and
encryption. Problems which comes with different platform
architectures (byte swapping and different character codings) are
solved transparently. TCP/IP is used as underlying transport
protocol. IPv6 is supported. The PINPI server supports also
multi-threading.
Look for a description of PINPI: Platform Independent Network Programming Interface or for a little workshop.
PINPI is based on SDXF the Structured Data eXchange Format also published as an "Internet Request For Comment" in RFC3072 (or original text)
User and administration messages are transformed into this
special network format. This format is self-describing and
cpu-independent. The source for SDXF can be downloaded here.
I published the Network protocol for PINPI (SDXP: Structured Data
Exchange Protocol) as an Internet RFC draft.
